With only two weeks left to go it is a great time to get excited for Bonnaroo 2013. Bonnaroo is a festival unlike any other, it features 4 days of world class music and events combined with camping and a fun communal atmosphere. The line-up includes 150 out of this world performers. I will fill you on what I think are the highlights and list some of the great bands to check out. Bonnaroo isn’t only about the incredible musical performances, there is also great parties and happenings to discover when you are not listening to the awesome bands.

The big names – Where to start? How about Paul McCartney. Yes, Paul McCartney is headlining this year. That is certainly a performance not to be missed. He just started his tour “Out There” and if the set list from his show earlier this month is any indication of what he will play at Bonnaroo it is going to be the event of a lifetime. He performed many classics from The Beatles as well as a few songs from Wings. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will also be headlining. They are considered to be one of the all-time greatest live bands. Mumford & Sons rounds out the headliners. The band has had amazing success in the last year with their album “Babel” which won the Grammy for album of the year. Mumford & Sons is touring North America this summer, so if you can’t make it to Bonnaroo, maybe you can catch them later in the summer. A few of the other big names set to preform are Björk, Wilco, Wu-Tang Clan, Billy Idol, ZZ Top, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Lumineers, and Of Monsters & Men.  There are many, many more so check out the full list of performers

Find your new favorite music – Festivals like Bonnaroo (if we can really compare anything to Bonnaroo) are a great way to discover bands you have not heard before. Bonnaroo has plenty of great music to discover. With so much happening at the show make sure you a bit of research ahead of time so you don’t miss out on the music on the smaller stages. Here are a few suggestions of bands to check out. Futurebirds is an indie rock band out of Georgia definitely worth checking out. If you yearning for some psychedelic indie pop give Tame Impala a listen. Trumpet Shorty and Orleans Avenue are Bonnaroo regulars sure to give a high energy trad jazz performance, you don’t want to miss. If you want to try some sampladelic techno go by the Four Tet performance.

Beyond Music – In between the music there is plenty of entertainment at Bonnaroo. There are workshops in everything from art to dance to theatre. There is comedy tent featuring acts like Daniel Tosh and Bob Saget and many more hilarious comedians. You can stop by and see a movie in the cinema tent or taste some beer from over 20 different breweries. If you are looking for something a little healthier than beer and movies you can drop by a yoga class. If you want to keep the party going, visit the silent disco for a headphones party or swing by the solar stage and dance at a party run on solar power.

You can check out the full list of performers and attractions at Bonnaroo. It is sure to be 4 days of musical bliss. Who are you most looking forward to seeing at the festival? If you can’t make it to Tennessee for Bonnaroo, you can still listen to The Beatles now on Torch Music and hope that you will get a chance to see Paul McCartney another time.

Between Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and everything in between, social media is taking over our devices one app at a time. From the makers of Twitter, the fastest growing social media platform, a new app Vine has made its way into the phones of everyone from celebrities to big brands.

Since its release 7 months ago, Vine has already climbed to the top of Apple’s App Store download charts and is currently number 4 in the Top Free iPhone Apps chart.

Vine is an app that allows you to shoot 6 second videos from your phone, Anything from a video of your baby taking its first steps to a professional stop motion video with 100 different frames. Users are able to create vines using phones only, without the ability to edit or change their creations after they publish it on Vine. The app is currently available for IOS only, as an Android version is still being developed.

But what about if you want to save your Vines on your computer,  send them to friends in an email, edit them or share them in your YouTube channel ? We have the solution! When you watch a Vine on Torch, the Media Grabber’s button becomes enabled, allowing you to download the Vine video with one click to your computer as an mp4 video file.

Here is our own Vine video (downloaded with Torch :) ) on how to download vine videos straight to your computer with Torch:

Are you using Vine?
