Top 10 Reasons Why We Can’t Get Enough of Adam Levine

In honor of sexy front man, Adam Levine’s 35th birthday, we thought we’d let you in on the top reasons why we can’t get enough of this rock star!

1. He keeps his rock star bod in tip-top shape with yoga. Before he busts out the moves-like Jagger- he tries positions like cobra, monkey, and tree when practicing. Which is impressive considering his height, he comes in at 6 feet. Levine says practicing allows him to “make better decisions that come from a clear place”.

2. He’s a simple guy. Levine is known by his bandmates as the Zen master because he is not materialistic. His one vice is his passion for clothing- like the simple t-shirts  he is known for wearing on stage and on The Voice.

3. His dance moves. Maybe it’s all that yoga or years of jumping around on stage, but Mr. Levine has got them down. See exhibit A in “Moves like Jagger” with his co-judge Christina Aguilera.

4. He’s not afraid to share his “flaws”. Levine’s fear of flying keeps the band on a bus going from city to city when they go on tour.

5. He has a thing for beautiful women. While it may be a cliche, this rock star has dated some of the biggest super models in the world. All we can say is, we get it.

6. He shows the haters who’s boss. Levine was told that his voice sounded like a girl, but with millions of records sold, we don’t think he’s complaining.

7. He’s great friends with his coworkers. Aside from his bandmates, you can catch the cutest bromance between Levine and country singer Blake Shelton on The Voice .

8. The way he makes you feel, well, loved.

9. You can wake up to him every morning instead of  that annoying alarm clock. Just don’t blame us when you can’t get this song out of your head.

10. He’s not letting his age stop him. As People’s sexiest man alive, Levine has big plans to make more music with Maroon 5 and keep us laughing on The Voice.

You can join us in celebrating Adam Levine’s birthday by visiting the Maroon 5 artist page on Torch Music!

How to Tweet the Right Way

Posted by Brooke Ashley • March 13, 2014 at 03:24 PM

hashtag on chalkboard

Out there in the big, blue tweetosphere lives a world of many tweets. Some are sent to Justin Bieber professing their love, while others are sadly sitting in purgatory as they were never read by the tweet recipient, or even their own twitter followers. Many wonder how to construct the perfect tweet for everyone to see, so here are our three simple steps to creating the tweets of your dreams!

1. #Hashtag-Before Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon made a million hit video about it, Twitter accidentally renamed the pound sign into the now infamous “hashtag”. Typically in your 140 character tweet, you shouldn’t use more than three hashtags. If you’re at a major event, watching a TV show live, or seeing your favorite artist in concert, using a trending hashtag will make you seem even more in the know. For example, “Can’t wait to watch the next episode of #ScandalABC to see what #OlivaPope is going to do next! #BESTSHOWEVER” is only 109 characters long and has three hashtags so your followers don’t feel overwhelmed. This also allows others who are following the trending hashtag to see what you are tweeting, even if they don’t follow you. (This can also lead to more followers!)

2. Tweet for All-If you want to share your love of your favorite artist’s new song,  be sure ALL of your followers can see it.  If you include the twitter handle in the middle of a tweet, all of your followers will be able to see the tweet. What many don’t realize, is if their handle is the first word in the tweet, you must put another word, or even a period, before the rest so even people who are not following that twitter account can see. For example: “.@Beyonce had one of the best hit singles of all time! I’ve already listened to #DrunkinLove 128 times! ” will be read by all of your followers, instead of the ones just following Beyoncé.

3. SHARE the love! If you see a tweet from one of the people you are following and want to share it with your followers, simply click the Retweet button. Think of this as an endorsement message, that you agree with what this person says, and you couldn’t say it any better yourself. If you want to add your two cents in, click “Quote” to include your thoughts and the original tweet.

Torch Browser makes it easy to share the things you love on Twitter using our Drag & Drop feature. Now that you know a few simple tips about tweeting, what will your first tweet be?

Rihanna and Eminem Are Together Again

Everyone’s favorite bad girl has once again joined forces with one of the biggest names in rap. That’s right, Eminem and Rihanna are at it again, the duo will be touring together. The Monster Tour will be short so if you live in one of the three cities they are heading to consider yourself lucky.

The tour will take place in August stopping at New York, Los Angeles and of course Eminem’s hometown of Detroit.

The artists first collaborated on the song “Love the Way You Lie” in 2010. The song topped the charts but many were concerned by the violent nature of the song and the depictions of violence video.

While many people were surprised when they first collaborated, the huge success of the song was reason enough for Riri and Em to work together again.

They released “Love the Way You Lie (Part II)” and then on “Numb”. Their most recent collaboration “Monster” has been a chart topper.

If you aren’t lucky enough to catch these two in concert you can still listen to Rihanna and Eminem on Torch Music.

Internet Rumors that Just Won’t Go Away

Posted by Nadine Segal • February 19, 2014 at 04:21 PM

Girls whispering

During the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Sochi there seemed to be an issue with one of the Olympic rings. The mishap caused quite a stir and it inspired a satirical story published by The Daily Currant, in which the man responsible for the ring incident is found dead. This appears to have spread around the internet like wildfire and many of those that viewed it were unaware that it was all a joke. The story is still making its way around the web and many still have no idea it is fiction. These rumors can keep going for what seems to be forever.

People were spreading rumors long before the internet came around but when rumors spread online they have the ability to spread incredibly fast and anyone can start the rumor. Here are some other popular internet rumors that just keep spreading.

There is another popular internet rumor that started from a fake news piece. They say that the best lies have some truth to them. It is true that Samsung lost a lawsuit against Apple and were forced to pay them over a billion dollars in damages. Then a spoof news article said that Samsung paid the fine entirely in nickels. The story was actually really funny, painting the picture of trucks full of nickels arriving at the Apple headquarters. Problem was many failed to realize that it was satire and spread the word online. While the decision was reached in the summer of 2012, the rumor continues to circulate.

It isn’t just major companies that are subjected to online rumors, celebrities are also some of the biggest targets. While some celebs are only  reported dead occasionally, others die on a pretty regular basis. Justin Bieber , for instance is reported dead via Twitter nearly every other week. Many choose to not acknowledge the death hoaxes while other have a bit of fun with them. Check out what Jon Bon Jovi posted on his Facebook after internet rumors claimed he was dead.

Other celebrity rumors claim celebs have hidden identities. Like the rumor that Marlyn Manson is actually Josh Saviano, the actor who played Kevin on The Wonder Years.

Some online rumors claim that they can save your life. Like the well intentioned people who shared with everyone how to thwart a thief who forces you to withdraw money from the ATM. The rumors claim that if you put your pin in reverse the machine will function properly but also alert the police. Thing is that it won’t work, while the idea was proposed to banks it was never implemented.

Do you ever wonder if what you are sharing online is true?

Whatever you choose to share online, the easiest way to share is with Torch Browser.
